Supporting You

There’s always a friendly face to talk to here at The Cancer Support Centre.

We provide support for anyone affected by cancer.  You may have a diagnosis or you may be supporting or caring for someone who has received a diagnosis, be it a relative, partner or friend, and need our support too!

There will always be someone to talk to when you pop in, or if you call us we will always try to help, and call you back if you leave us a message.

The support we offer is designed to complement your hospital treatments, to help you manage the effects they have had both physically and psychologically.

Conventional cancer treatments affect people in many different ways causing anxiety, disruption of sleep, fatigue, mobility, hormonal issues, pain, sickness, or more specific problems. If you are supporting someone you may also experience some of these too.

We believe in a holistic approach which supports and focuses on your mind, body and spirit, whilst ensuring that you feel part of our supportive community.

Initially, every new visitor is encouraged to arrange an appointment with one of our client advocates, who all have experience of working with people who have been affected by cancer, with some having experienced a diagnosis too.

At this initial ‘welcome assessment’, we will work together to develop your personal treatment plan. This will include a number of one-to-one therapeutic sessions, along with access to a wide range of group activities and supportive workshops.

We’re certain that you’ll like what you see and hear, and want to become part of our amazing centre.

As we are a charitable organisation, there is a one-off joining donation of only £25.00, which covers the assessment and your initial therapies and ongoing support from our experienced therapists and our warm, welcoming community.

All activities are supported and subsidised by our fundraising and your support is welcomed too.

By joining our centre, you will have access to so much more than just the centre and all its activities – you will have our support.
